“Kansas should work for the people who live here, not just the powerful interests with the loudest voices.”
- Mary Ann Harmon
PRIORITIES
BRING BACK AFFORDABILITY
Working hard should be enough to build a good life in Kansas.
We are watching more of every paycheck disappear into housing, healthcare, utilities, groceries, childcare, and property taxes. Mary Ann believes state government should focus on lowering the everyday costs families cannot avoid and making sure tax relief actually reaches ordinary Kansans rather than to those who don’t need it.
Her approach is straightforward: protect homeowners from rising property taxes, hold utilities and insurance companies accountable, expand access to affordable healthcare, and support policies that help wages go further. Kansas should be a place where working people can afford to stay, raise a family, and build a future.
REGULATE DATA CENTERS
They want to consume and pollute our resources.
Kansas should not give giant data centers a blank check to consume enormous amounts of water and electricity while local families and communities are left to deal with the consequences. Mary Ann believes any data center operating in Kansas should be required to protect our water supply, prevent unnecessary pollution, and pay its fair share of the infrastructure and energy costs it creates.
SUPPORT VETERANS
They supported us. We need to support them.
Veterans still have so much to contribute. They bring skills, discipline, experience, and leadership to our communities, and Kansas should be a place where they can come home, build a career, raise a family, and know their community has their back.
Supporting veterans means making sure they have access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to build a strong life after their service. Mary Ann wants Kansas to be a place where those who served our country will always have a place to call home.
STAND UP TO INSURANCE COMPANIES
They take our money and deny us care.
Kansans pay for insurance every month, but too often they still have to fight to get the care they need. Families should not be buried in paperwork, denials, and unexpected costs while insurance companies protect their profits.
Mary Ann believes patients and their doctors should have more say in healthcare decisions. She supports stronger accountability for insurance companies, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and making sure Kansans get the coverage and care they are already paying for.
